It’s a slowburn story but it was totally okay for me and I quite enjoy the whole ride.īut the moment I finished the first book, I’m kind of exhausted to continue the next installment. As a friend and a foe, Citra and Rowan needs to fight each other to gain their title as scythes. I quite like the first book because there are clear missions to it. It’s like they don’t have a fix goal to it and the plot just move on as the river flows.

But then, what? Pages after pages, books after books, I don’t get the idea of what this series want to achieve. Like, Okay this series is full of scythes deal.

This series really do have an amazing concept, but personally, I don’t really get the true plot lines of this series. And the innocent Citra and Rowan somehow get dragged upon the messed since they’re being picked and trained as the next scythe’s apprentice. The big deal is being scythes are also somehow a play of power and politics. Just like the names- scythes, they’ll have the upperhand to glean people and the death’ll never to be revived again. We, human has also conquered death and whatever you need, whatever knowledge you’re craving for, Thunderhead- internet sentient which more or less acted and worshipped like a God will be there to guide you.Īnd the mind blowing thing of all, since human has conquered death, they’ll need a system to wipe out over populated issues.

It’s one hell of a brilliant concept.įast forward to future, we are now living in a world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery. I thought, “What about this book?” as I pick it up and skim the blurb. But what I don’t expect, there’s always Bookstagrammers, Bloggers, Readers, who find this book alluring. To be honest, first glance to the books, they didn’t give me much interest.

Humanity is innocent humanity is guilty, and both states are undeniably true.” - Overall Review of Arc of a Scythe- Scythe, Thunderhead and The Toll “Everyone is guilty of something, and everyone still harbors a memory of childhood innocence, no matter how many layers of life wrap around it. These teens must master the “art” of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own. Now scythes are the only ones who can end life-and they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control.Ĭitra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe-a role that neither wants. Humanity has conquered all those things, and has even conquered death. Fingers crossed.Ī world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery. I’m so excited to start off this series! There’s just tons of good reviews about it and I’m counting on this series to bring me out of my reading slumps.
