I can’t wait for a new generation of preteens to fall in love with Jessica, Elizabeth, and their friends! Being able to take the twins into the modern age has been an absolute joy. I remember absolutely devouring Sweet Valley Twins as a preteen and felt like I couldn’t get enough of the drama, the shenanigans, and of course the sisters ultimately having each other’s backs. This isn't new territory for Andelfinger either, who expressed adoration for the original series in a Penguin Random House press release: It is so much fun seeing my characters practically alive! Nicole and Claudia have done an amazing job, and I’m very excited to work with them. And now graphic novels are our newest adventure. I have such great love for Sweet Valley and all the amazing adventures I’ve been able to take Jessica and Elizabeth on.

The book is available for pre-order now from Penguin Random House. Writer Nicole Andelfinger ( Lumberjanes: A Midsummer Night's Scheme) and artist Claudia Aguirre (Lost on Planet Earth) will be taking up the torch so a new generation of pre-teens will get to discover the Sweet Valley Twins through this new slew of graphic novels. The graphic novels themselves will be hitting digital stores and local comic book shops starting with the first graphic novel, Sweet Valley Twins: Best Friends, on November 1, 2022, and a second, Sweet Valley Twins: Teacher's Pet coming in 2023. Now, starting in November, Sweet Valley Twins will be retold in a series of graphic novels.
